Community-Driven Development

Eclipse Consulting carries out her community development interventions through participatory approaches, which is at the core of our all our interventions. We have strong niche in the use of Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA/PLA), REFLECT, CONSENSUS, and stakeholders’ engagement that helps communities overcome their challenges. Our aim is to provide solutions to the critical areas of sustainable development with “people to people” working for change and.  This includes access to clean water, quality healthcare, quality education, viable enterprises and increased income.

Our objective is to empower community members and creates stronger and more connected communities. Our interventions are geared towards community members becoming more empowered, such that they can increasingly recognise and challenge conditions and structures which are leading to their disempowerment or negatively impacting their wellbeing.

Our holistic approach is grounded in principles of empowerment, human rights, inclusion, social justice, self-determination and collective action. These are led by community members at every stage – from deciding on issues to selecting and implementing actions, and evaluation, hence addressing the causes of inequality and disadvantage.
